Workforce Essentials
We have a close partnership with Workforce Essentials (WFE). WFE provides free HiSET (GED) and ESL services to our community. They serve all Dickson County residents including residents in recovery programs and in the Dickson County jail. They celebrate their graduates by having a graduation ceremony every summer.
How are READ and WFE partnering?
83.5% of WFE students read below a 6th-grade level. READ works with these students, either within the classroom setting or independently, to help each student reach a 6th-grade reading level so that they can begin their journey to earning their HiSET.
We work with ESL students who need more one-on-one time developing their conversational English.
We work with students who need an extra boost in one of the HiSET subjects.
We work with literacy and ESL students whose schedules are not conducive to WFE class schedules.
